Welcome to Inside Story: Tales of American Incarceration

An anthology of work compiled by student journalists at Pittsburgh's Duquesne University, Inside Story aims to provide returning citizens with a platform for sharing their experiences. 

Over the course of the spring 2019 semester, students worked with and interviewed previously incarcerated individuals as part of Professor Maggie Patterson's investigative reporting course. The end result was not only a series of compelling stories, but a deeper understanding of the American criminal justice system and the people it affects.
